Group Class Descriptions

Grinch to Great- You Have a Friend: Reactive Dog Class

This class is designed to help reactive dogs learn to overcome the fear and emotional reactions to other dogs being in their bubble.  The class is kept small (maximum of 4 dogs) to allow space between the dogs.  Dogs and guardians will learn how to incorporate games, advocacy and counter conditioning to reduce reactivity.  After graduation, dogs will be invited to our monthly group hikes for reactive dogs!  Please note, that dogs who have experienced aggression with other dogs will need to be evaluated prior to coming to class.

Decompression and the Urban Dog

All dogs need to decompress, but urban dogs have an increased need for this.  This class will cover ways to help your dog relax and decompress in the home as well as outdoor activities designed to help your dog decompress.  Classes will be in the gym and on the road to keep it interesting.

Winter Woof Games for the Urban dog:

Holidays can be a stressful time. We want to remind you to have fun like when you were a kid!  Embrace the holidays and play with your dog.  This class is designed to play games that will foster leash skills, polite greetings and focus, all while creating a stronger bond with you and your dog.

Puppy Basics:

Designed for puppies under 6 months of age.  This class will cover all the basic cues you need your new puppy to learn!  We will set the groundwork for intermediate manners (Canine Good Citizen class) and will cover topics like enrichment, loose leash walking and polite greetings.  Each class will include time for the puppies to explore new experiences and to socialize with each other!

Snow Much to Sniff:

This class is a fun introduction to nosework and all things sniffy!  The class is focused on enrichment and fun, not competition.  Bring your dog and watch them build confidence as they learn to sniff their way through the holidays!

Naughty to Nice (also known as Chaos to Calm):

The holidays are a busy time of year, and our dogs can feel the shift in our energy.  This class is designed to build relaxation and calm behaviors through the season.  It's as important for us as our dogs to learn to relax and be calmer amidst the chaos of the season!

Doggy Parkour:

This class covers the basics of teaching our dogs to use their bodies to move in space and their environments.  Our agility equipment will be set up and dogs will be taught to use the equipment.  Dogs will be taught skills that you can take on the road with you like putting two paws up on an item or jumping up on various items in the environment.  A great way to have fun with your pet while helping them get the exercise they need!

BARC Club Events:

Our BARC Club (Bashful, Anxious, Reactive and Cautious) is for our reactive dog owners or shy dog owners who have graduated from our  You Have a Friend class or have taken private training with one of our trainers.  Events are all reactive dog friendly and are designed to allow you to practice your skills while including your dog in fun activities.  The additional bonus, is that we have a community of like minded pet owners who understand the need for space, that our dogs have good days and bad days, and who cheer each other on!
